What a great start to the new Camping & Caravanning Year
15 Units – Motorhomes and Caravans attended this small, but well-situated meet over the Valentine’s Weekend, at Queniborough Village Hall. Never heard of it?  It’s located between Leicester and Melton Mowbray and is in a pretty village with 2 good pubs and a spired Church.
Shame about the cold February weather, but there was a very warm welcome from our stewards Jan and Ian Bott, who also happen to be secretary and Chair.
The village hall car park provided hard standing for everyone, which was good news after such a wet start to the year. During the day on Saturday several campers caught the bus from right outside the village hall into Leicester and spent an enjoyable time there.
Friday and Saturday evenings were enjoyed in the village hall. A social get together on Friday evening attended by old and new faces, was followed by superb entertainment on Saturday evening from Grace Florence who is a talented young singer. She sang a great selection of songs – some old, some new and some she wrote herself.  She accompanied many of her songs herself on her guitar and was also accompanied by Lee on guitar, vocals and beat box. A raffle was held in support of ‘Wishes 4 Kids’, which is our Charity for 2024 – 2025 and over £120 was raised to bump up the previous total to over £600 so far!
Thank you to Jan and Ian and to everyone who supported us at this new venue.
Our next meet is at Copt Oak from Friday 11 April until Sunday 13 April, where we will hold our AGM.  (Details are in Out and About). Entertainment on Saturday by Liam & Sean Iliffe A friendly welcome awaits you!
